The Scouts had a fantastic opportunity to learn from Mr. Ferreira, who gave an informative and hands-on talk about snakes. He brought along non-venomous snakes and demonstrated how to safely catch and identify them in the wild.
One of the highlights was learning how to spot a Brown House Snake, a common yet harmless snake often found in our area and even in homes. Mr. Ferreira also introduced the Scouts to a rare rat snake and his very own pet python, which he cares for with great dedication.
The learners were thrilled to touch and hold the snakes, making the experience both exciting and educational. They gained valuable knowledge and important survival skills for their future hikes and outdoor adventures.
